DEPARTMENT OF URDU
Nagarjuna Government Degree College was established in 1956. The department was started along with the college in 1956 the introduction of the B.A Regular course in Urdu medium and the department has been teaching Urdu as Second Language to all the classes of B.A/B.Com/B.Sc first and second years .
Presently student from all groups Ist & 2nd years are studying Urdu as a second language the performance of the students in the both semesters examinations has been satisfactory and the percentage is around 95.
Despite low performance at entry level the students are well taught and encouragement to overcome the difficulties by arranging the students seminars, Guest lecturer and conducting test in 2009-10.
All the beginning of the academic year the faculty of the department prepaid annual academic plan by dividing the syllabus month wise and unit wise to the extent of working days available in each month periodical review of the teaching schedule is done at department. Teaching synopsis prepared well in advance and teaching diaries are maintain by the faculty to record the teaching activity of the day. The department has planned to complete the prescribed syllabus as per annual academic plan and teach.
