About Library
The Nagarjuna Government College, affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad is a premier Government Educational institution in the state. The idea of CLIC was first mooted out in 2001. Prior to that the college library was in two small rooms in the cellar. This library presently in vogue as CLIC has been serving students since the inception of the college in 1956. It is catering to the user needs of science, social sciences, humanities and commerce subjects.for UG & PG Courses Its user strength is above 4400.
It is housed in the North west corner of the college building with a plinth area of 4103 sft. It has a rich colleciton of over 47449 volumes, covering manifold areas of knowledge. It offers variety of services to the users in the SOUL software automated environment. This well furnished and well ventilated library building is devided into different service blocks with a 175 seating capacity.
The ambience and the service attract the users, playing a vital role in strengthening the teaching and learning process of this college. This CLIC today is an ideal to other college libraries, offering training and guidance to the library professionals. The library is fully computerized using SOUL integrated library management software. The collection of the library is available online @ college site “www.ngcnalgonda.org” through the web OPAC facility of the SOUL. The Library plays a vital role in the collection development and dissemination of various subjects, Reference and competitive examination information to meet the present and future needs of the Students. The Library maintains databases of ALUMNI who studied at N G College.; and provides Links to all universities in India and its contact details including e-mail and website addresses, and to open access online resources
