The Department of Economics is as old as the Nagarjuna College itself. It originated in 1956 along with the college as a constituent part of it. It offered students social science with a combination of EHP, EPP, & EEP Groups in the Arts Faculty.
The department has two sanctioned posts and it continues to be still date. In the year 2009-10 EEP group converted Telugu Medium to English Medium
After the N.G.College turned Autonomous in 2007-08, the DOE designed syllabus taking the changing needs of the day and students into consideration. The members of the Department have voluminous experience to their credit imparting quality education to students. They keep themselves updated about the changing aspects of Economics at the regional, National and International levels.
